Location: Mill Operations
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Steam Chief to lead our Steam & Recovery Department. The ideal candidate will oversee process and equipment improvements, provide training support to supervisors and employees, and assist with maintenance coordination for our steam plant and associated systems. As a pivotal member of our team, you'll drive performance, safety, and efficiency while ensuring compliance with department objectives and strategic planning initiatives.
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Steam & Recovery Department to achieve performance targets.

Collaborate with the Area Reliability Team, informing the S&R Manager of potential production or quality issues and proposing solutions.

Maintain adequate supply and quality of process water, steam, and chemicals for mill operations.

Implement communication programs to promote safety, motivation, and participation in department objectives.

Support the S&R Manager in ensuring Power Engineers advance certifications and operational knowledge.

Proactively manage equipment and processes to prevent operational disruptions and quality issues.

Monitor data systems for production or quality issues and initiate troubleshooting solutions.

Provide leadership in health, safety, fire prevention, and risk assessment within the operating area.

Administer collective agreements and ensure compliance with Workplace Safety & Health, environmental and government regulations.

Coordinate maintenance turnaround and inspections of equipment, suggesting changes to enhance operations.
- 1st Class Power Engineer Certificate, 2nd Class Power Engineer with progress shown towards 1st may be considered. Professional Engineer qualifications would be an asset.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in a similar industrial setting.

Strong technical knowledge of steam and recovery systems, equipment, and environmental standards.
