Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated carpenter or apprentice to join our construction team. All work is local to Wainwright Alberta. Typically Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays depending on the job. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various aspects of construction, including blueprint reading, concrete forming, framing, siding, carpentry, and the operation of heavy equipment. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects that require technical expertise, physical strength, and attention to detail. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality building projects, ensuring safety and precision throughout all phases of construction.
Duties
- Interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute construction tasks accurately
- Build and install concrete forms and perform concrete finishing with precision
- Operate heavy equipment safely for excavation, lifting, and material handling
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively for framing, siding installation, woodworking, and other carpentry tasks
- Assist with restoration projects including siding replacement and structural repairs
- Conduct heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate project progress
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment at all times
- Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines are met with quality workmanship
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction-related roles with knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics
- Skilled in concrete forming, finishing, and restoration techniques
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and heavy machinery operation
- Strong understanding of carpentry, woodworking, siding installation, and general construction practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and stand for extended periods
- Physical strength and stamina necessary for demanding construction tasks
- Prior experience with heavy equipment operation is preferred but not required; training will be provided if necessary
