Job Description
We are looking for a reliable, hands-on, and self-motivated Building and Property Maintenance Person / Handy Man to join our automotive dealership team.
This position is responsible for helping maintain the dealership building, service department, vehicle lot, customer areas, and surrounding property. The ideal candidate takes pride in keeping a workplace clean, safe, organized, and professional-looking.
This role would be well suited for someone with general maintenance, handyman, property care, or building maintenance experience who is comfortable working both indoors and outdoors.
Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs
- Maintain the dealership lot, grounds, sidewalks, parking areas, and exterior property
- Snow removal and ice control when required
- Sweep, pressure wash, and complete general exterior cleaning
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, and carpentry repairs
- Maintain shop, showroom, office, wash bay, and customer areas
- Handle garbage and recycling duties
- Assist with seasonal property needs and general cleanup
- Perform light equipment maintenance
- Pick up supplies, parts, or materials as needed
- Monitor the property for safety concerns or repair needs
- Report larger repairs or maintenance issues to management
- Help ensure the dealership remains clean, safe, organized, and presentable at all times
Requirements
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Previous experience in maintenance, handyman work, property care, building maintenance, or a similar role preferred
- Basic knowledge of tools, equipment, and general repairs
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks without constant supervision
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded
- Physically able to lift, carry, shovel, sweep, clean, and perform general labour duties
- Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in different weather conditions
- Strong attention to detail
- Positive attitude and willingness to help where needed
- Ability to identify maintenance issues and communicate them clearly
Assets
- Experience working around an automotive dealership, repair shop, or service department
- Snow removal experience
- Forklift, skid steer, or small equipment experience
- Basic mechanical ability
- WHMIS or other safety training
- Experience with pressure washers, small tools, lawn equipment, or maintenance equipment
Pay
Competitive wage based on experience
Schedule
Monday to Friday, with weekends or after-hours work as required
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
