SMRT Computer Solutions is looking for an IT Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who enjoys troubleshooting technical issues, working directly with clients, and learning new technologies.
You will assist with supporting small and medium-sized businesses by helping maintain secure, reliable, and efficient IT systems. You’ll work alongside experienced technicians and gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of technologies.
This position is based in Powassan, ON and includes both in-office work and occasional travel to client locations.

Responsibilities:
Technical Support
- Provide first-level IT support to clients both remotely and on-site
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices
- Install and configure computers, operating systems, and business software
- Assist with Office 365 account setup and basic administration
Networking & Systems
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting and connectivity issues
- Help configure and maintain networking equipment such as routers, switches, and Wi-Fi systems
- Support senior technicians with server and cloud environments
Client Service & Documentation
- Manage and respond to support tickets in a timely manner
- Communicate clearly with clients to diagnose issues and provide updates
- Document technical issues and solutions for internal records
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Information Technology or related field (preferred)
- Experience in IT support or relevant technical training is preferred
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Basic knowledge of Office 365 and cloud services
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routers, Wi-Fi)
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Criminal background check required
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (transportation paid)
Preferred Skills:
- A+, Cisco, Microsoft Certifications or similar certification
- Experience with remote support tools or ticketing systems
- Familiarity with networking equipment such as Ubiquiti or Fortinet
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
