Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to run our nature-based summer care program! This part time summer position has the potential to grow into full time employment in the fall.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, experience working with children, and enjoy facilitating nature-based programming. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. The Early Childhood Educator will collaborate with colleagues and families to support each child's individual needs and ensure a positive educational experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement creative, developmentally appropriate activities aligned with the Early Learning Framework
- Take children on outings to nearby parks
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and learning.
- Support children's social-emotional development through positive guidance and caregiving techniques.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress to tailor instruction and communicate effectively with families.
- Collaborate with team members to plan activities that promote early childhood development skills.
- Assist children with daily routines such as meal times, activities, and hygiene practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized environment that adheres to safety standards and regulations.
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in an educational or caregiving setting is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices.
- Working with children requires patience, creativity, strong communication skills, and a nurturing attitude.

Wages

Pay: $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24.0 per week
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Scotch Creek, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- registration with ECE BC (required)
- Childcare First Aid (required)
