Job Summary
After a succeful open and launch the team at Watermark Restaurant At Oceanstone Resort in Peggy Coveare seekijng to add a skilled and motivated Lead Line Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety, with a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. As a Lead Line Cook, you will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen line, ensure high-quality meal preparation, and support the kitchen staff in maintaining efficient and safe food service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated culinary professional to lead by example and contribute to the success of our restaurant as well as the option for internal promotion as opportunity presents itself.
Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen line, including station setup, organization, and cleanliness.
- Supervise and assist kitchen staff with food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure timely service.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies; communicate needs for restocking or ordering.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on proper food handling, cooking techniques, and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and improve existing dishes.
- Ensure all food served meets quality standards and presentation expectations before it reaches guests.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within a restaurant or food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
- Excellent skills in meal preparation, plating, and serving techniques.
- Ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy service periods.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with front-of-house staff and team members.
