Job Title: Assistant Director
Start Date: August 24th, 2026
Whycocomagh Lakeview Child Care Society is hiring for an Assistant Director to join our team. The assistant director will plan and implement all administrative tasks. The assistant director will complement the work of the Program Director and adhere to all regulations and policies outlined in the Daycare Act and Regulations. The Assistant Director will report to the Director and Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Certificate, Diploma or Degree - or willingness to obtain
- Valid First Aid/CPR “C” Certificate
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current Child Abuse Register Check
Job Duties:
- Submitting payroll hours to Payworks
- Grant application processes and procedures
- Bi-weekly grant reporting
- Monthly Subsidy reporting
- Monthly Financial reconciliations
- Enrolment and waitlist management
- Menu planning
- Adhering to licensing and regulation procedures - Keeping licensing systems up to date
- Managing fundraising
- Attending monthly Board Meetings and preparing Directors Reports
- Monthly invoicing & tracking payments
- Staff and Parent meetings
- Yearly reporting for charitable status
- Recruitment and assisting in hiring processes
- Brightwheel administration
- Keeping daily, weekly & monthly forms up to date
Salary: Following the Nova Scotia ECE Wage Scale
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.18-$35.40 per hour
