We're on the hunt for a dynamic Food & Beverage Manager to champion our passionate team at the Renaissance. If you thrive in a vibrant, fast-paced environment and are ready to take on a permanent, full-time role managing both the hippest bar and restaurant in Edmonton and extensive banquet operations, we want to meet you! WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB
Nestled in the heart of the Edmonton International Airport, HALO Bistro|Bar stands as the pinnacle of trendy, upscale dining. With a menu that balances classic favourites and local specialties, HALO offers more than just a meal—it promises a culinary adventure underscored by urban flair and contemporary taste. As the Food & Beverage Manager, you'll oversee our bustling 200-seat space and collaborate with top-tier culinary talent to ensure every plate we serve turns first-time visitors into regulars. Beyond HALO, you'll also play a key role in managing our expansive 20,000 sq ft of banquet space, orchestrating memorable events that perfectly blend service with setting.
Your job duties include:
- Leadership and Development: Spearhead the planning, direction, and control of the Food & Beverage Department, ensuring stellar service and meticulous attention to guest interactions. Drive the training, evaluation, performance, and motivation of ambassadors across diverse F&B operations, including HALO Bar|Bistro, In-Room Dining, Club Lounge, and Banquets, maintaining high standards and cultural integrity.
- Financial Acumen and Strategic Operations: Masterfully manage labour and operational expenses through savvy scheduling, judicious budgeting, and smart purchasing. Embrace innovative revenue-enhancing strategies to bolster profitability.
- Guest Relations and Menu Excellence: Stay highly visible and engaged in daily operations, forging strong bonds with returning customers and welcoming new guests. Collaborate with the Director of Food & Beverage, Executive Chef, and Sous Chefs to curate captivating menus and wine selections that promise both quality and value.
- Communication and Teamwork: Ensure smooth operational flow and departmental harmony through proactive communication and regular coordination meetings with ambassadors and other management, as well as providing hands-on support when needed.
- Event and Banquet Management: Oversee all banquet facilities, coordinating staff and resources in alignment with fluctuating business needs. Employ deep knowledge of banquet operations and general hotel functioning to enhance service delivery.
- Inventory and Compliance: Manage inventory needs and upkeep of supplies and equipment, from china and silver to buffet setups. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and uphold stringent company standards and procedures.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED
- A robust educational background in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of proven experience in food and beverage management, with a flair for leadership and a penchant for impeccable service.
- A comprehensive understanding of financial management, operational logistics, and event planning.
- Exceptional communication and conflict resolution skills, with proficiency in English.
- A proactive approach to managing supplies and equipment, ensuring every detail is perfect for each event.
