Compensation and Benefits:
- Work-life balance. Additional hours are required from February to April, however, in exchange, the office closes early on Fridays from July to December, and offers additional holiday time in December.

About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced, motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in a combined bookkeeping and personal tax preparation role. This position is well suited to someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, building relationships with clients, and taking ownership of their files. The successful candidate will work with a variety of small business and personal tax clients and will have the opportunity to develop their skills across bookkeeping, tax, and general accounting.
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for a variety of small business clients
- Record and reconcile bank, credit card and other balance sheet accounts
- Prepare GST/HST, payroll and other government remittances as required
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and supporting documentation
- Prepare year-end bookkeeping files and working papers for use by the firm’s accountants in preparing year end files
- Prepare T1 personal income tax returns for a variety of individual clients
- Prepare personal tax returns involving employment income, investments, rental properties, self-employment and other common tax matters
- Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve bookkeeping and tax-related questions
- Correspond with Canada Revenue Agency and other taxation authorities as required
- Assist with other accounting and tax-related tasks as required
About You:
- Bookkeeping and/or personal tax preparation experience, preferably in a public accounting environment
- Strong understanding of Canadian personal taxation and bookkeeping principles
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage and/or other accounting software; knowledge of CCH iFirm is an asset
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines
- Highly motivated, dependable and confident in your abilities
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, quality work
- Willing and eager to advance skills on a constant and continuous basis
- Honest, forthcoming and able to complete quality work in a timely manner
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
