Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide essential support and assistance to a client in their home. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about helping others, especially seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. The Home Care Worker plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for clients by offering personalized care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospice care, or working with individuals with dementia is highly valued. Duties
- Assist client with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as directed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe environment
- Support client with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Monitor client’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare providers or family members
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia or hospice care protocols
- Follow care plans accurately and document services provided during each visit
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities is preferred
- Knowledge of patient care practices and caregiving techniques
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs safely
- Strong communication skills and compassionate nature
- Ability to prepare meals according to dietary guidelines and assist with medication administration
- Experience in cleaning and maintaining a safe home environment is a plus
- Certification or training in caregiving, nursing assistance, or related fields is advantageous but not required
- Must be reliable, patient-focused, and able to work independently in clients’ homes
