Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and familiarity with dental office procedures to ensure a smooth patient experience and efficient office operations.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and check them in upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and relay messages accurately
- Maintain and update electronic medical records using systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Verify patient insurance information and process billing using dental software platforms
- Prepare patient charts and documentation for upcoming appointments
- Collect payments and explain treatment plans or financial policies clearly to patients
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth daily operations at the front desk
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and managing correspondence
- Ensure the reception area remains clean, organized, and welcoming
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dental software such as Dentrix and Epic is advantageous
- Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and medical terminology
- Strong office experience with proficiency in multi-line phone systems and administrative tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Experience in front desk operations within a healthcare environment is desirable
Experience
- Prior experience in dental office administration is highly preferred
- Experience with treatment planning and financial coordination
- Familiarity with insurance verification and claim submission
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (e.g. Abeldent)
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Hours include evenings, and some weekends.
