Maintenance Technician
Location: Victoria, BC
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From CA$23.50-24.50 per hour
Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Some shifts may begin as early as 5:00 a.m. Rotating weekend work and overtime may be required.
Position Overview
Robbins Parking Service Ltd. is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Meter and Maintenance team.
This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining parking lots, equipment, signage, and related facilities throughout the Victoria area. The successful candidate will be comfortable working outdoors, performing physically demanding tasks, using hand and power tools, and responding to changing operational priorities.
The role involves working both independently and as part of a team to ensure our parking facilities remain clean, safe, functional, and professionally presented.
Primary Responsibilities
· Complete general parking lot and parkade maintenance
· Perform weeding, landscaping, painting, pressure washing, garbage removal, and site cleanup
· Install, repair, and replace parking signs and related equipment
· Must have familiarity using tools.
· Assist with routine parking meter maintenance and cash collections
· Inspect parking facilities and identify maintenance or safety concerns
· Respond to scheduled and urgent maintenance requests
· Maintain tools, equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
· Operate company vehicles safely, professionally, and courteously
· Follow established schedules, operating procedures, and safety requirements
· Maintain clear records of completed and outstanding work
Required Qualifications
· Experience with general labour, maintenance, landscaping, construction, or a related field is preferred
· Mechanical aptitude and confidence is an assett .
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
· Strong verbal and written communication skills, including email
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond effectively to urgent requests
· Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
· Must provide a driver’s abstract .
Physical and Work Requirements
The successful candidate must be able to:
· Work outdoors throughout the year in varying weather conditions
· Perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
· Stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and use tools throughout the workday
· Work safely around vehicles, parking equipment, and active parking facilities
· Begin shifts as early as 5:00 a.m. when required
· Work occasional overtime and participate in a rotating weekend schedule
