Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time contract opportunity in
Kanata, ON. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and test mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.

Apply engineering principles to support the design of products such as machines, controls, instruments, robotics, and other mechanical systems.

Assist with the fabrication, operation, installation, application, and repair of mechanical products.

Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
-
Support prototype development, product testing, and validation activities.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
-
Ensure designs comply with engineering standards, quality requirements, and project specifications.
-
Follow established engineering processes and work under the guidance of senior engineers and supervisors.

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and manufacturability.
Qualifications

Must be legally eligible to work and reside in Canada.
-
Canadian citizenship or permanent residency is required due to security clearance processing requirements.

Must be eligible to meet Controlled Goods Program (CGP) requirements.

Machining experience is mandatory.

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

0-2 years of experience in mechanical engineering or a related field.

Knowledge of commonly used mechanical engineering concepts, practices, and procedures.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to work effectively under supervision while managing assigned tasks.
