Vision Sports Centre is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Cleaner / Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands that a clean facility is essential to creating a safe, welcoming experience for our members and guests. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout our busy multi-sport facility while helping ensure a healthy environment for athletes, families, and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning of washrooms, changerooms, common areas, offices, and athletic spaces.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting procedures.
- Operate commercial cleaning equipment, including auto scrubbers and floor machines.
- Strip, seal, and wax VCT flooring using proper industry techniques.
- Burnish and maintain floor finishes to a high standard.
- Vacuum, dust, mop, and remove garbage throughout the facility.
- Restock washroom and janitorial supplies.
- Identify maintenance concerns and report them promptly.
- Follow all workplace health and safety policies and safe chemical handling procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance while working around the public.
- Assist with facility setup and cleaning for tournaments, special events, and rentals as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous commercial cleaning or custodial experience.
- Experience operating TASKI floor cleaning equipment (preferred).
- Knowledge of proper VCT floor stripping, sealing, waxing, and burnishing procedures.
- Understanding of public health cleaning standards and infection prevention practices.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active throughout the shift.
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
