FIELD TECHNICIAN
DEPARTMENT: Operations
LOCATION: Winnipeg, MB & Field
HOURS: As scheduled
MANAGER: Event Logistics Coordinator, Eventwares Manager, Field Supervisor
REVIEW PERIOD: Semi-annually
COMPENSATION: $16.50/hour - $19/Hour (Bi-weekly)
VACATION: N/A
OBJECTIVE:
To execute field operations with a focus on efficiency and quality. Responsibilities include participating in event set ups, tear downs, performing deliveries, operating equipment,
maintaining cleanliness and quality of rental items and performing quality assurance checks to uphold standards and ensure client satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow all Pinnacle Event Rentals’ Culture, Safety and Policies
- Perform the setup, breakdown and delivery of events as scheduled to ensure accuracy, quality, and timeliness.
- Double-check orders for completeness and accuracy before release.
- Conduct final checks to ensure the event space meets company standards before handoff to the client.
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for clients and team members if a supervisor is not available, addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
- Supervise and direct the setup crew if a supervisor is not available, ensuring team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
- Complete delegated tasks effectively to meet deadlines and maintain efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to workplace safety standards and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions.
- Monitor equipment performance and report needed maintenance to the Operations Manager.
EXPECTATIONS:
- Proficient in the set up and take down of all styles of tents and their accessories with minimal guidance (training provided).
- Proficient in the set up and take down of trade shows and their accessories with minimal guidance (training provided).
- Proficient in the set up and take down of event decor with minimal guidance (training provided).
- Advanced understanding of the parts, tools, fittings, components, mechanics, wind load ratings, accessories and ballasting/tie down methods directly associated with tents, canopies, and structures.
- Lead, motivate, and effectively supervise the field team, ensuring clear communication, collaboration, and accountability when a supervisor is not present
- Maintain a professional and client-focused attitude, ensuring client needs are met and expectations are exceeded
- Must adhere to Pinnacle Event Rentals’ policy as outlined in the Employee Handbook
- Ability to work under pressure and to perform with quality
- Drive and operate Pinnacle Event Rentals vehicles and equipment following and observing all provincial and federal rules and regulations
- Show flexibility in handling changing job requirements, such as last-minute changes to project scope, unexpected site conditions, or staffing adjustments
- Regularly communicate progress and potential issues to leadership and team members to ensure everyone is aligned
- Demonstrate a commitment to improving processes, guiding crew members, and identifying areas for operational enhancement
- Maintain an organized workspace/worksite
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must complete any training assigned
- Proven experience in a leadership role is required
- Maintain and carry a valid Manitoba Class 5 Full or higher drivers license
- Ability or ability to learn to confidently hook, unhook, back up and haul hitch trailers up to 32’ long.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to operate all Pinnacle Event Rentals machinery and rented equipment
- Ability to read and speak English

Those undefined responsibilities will be under the direction and supervision of the department management. If directed, the expectations, as listed for this position, will always remain active.
