Job Summary:
Kent Metal Products is seeking an experienced CNC Laser Programmer/Operator to join our fabrication team. This role is responsible for programming, nesting, and operating laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal parts that meet exact specifications. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with CNC laser equipment, strong blueprint-reading skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Setup & Operation - Nest and operate laser cutting machines and other fabrication equipment, ensuring correct parameters, materials, and tooling are used.
- Maintenance & Monitoring - Perform routine maintenance, monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and report abnormalities to prevent downtime.
- Quality Inspection - Inspect finished parts for accuracy, tolerances, and surface quality; verify compliance with drawings and specifications.
- Technical Drawings - Read, interpret, and prepare technical drawings or production sketches as required.
- Production Coordination - Work closely with team members to meet daily production targets and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Additional Duties - Support management by completing additional tasks related to fabrication, material handling, or shop operations.
- Safety & Workplace Standards - Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure safe operation of all equipment.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience programming and operating CNC laser cutting machines.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $28.00 – $30.00 per hour, based on experience.
- Benefits eligibility begins after successful completion of the probationary period.
