The Opportunity
The Specialist plays a critical function in supporting the Materials Management team by optimizing and standardizing processes and SAP configurations to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency. The Specialist contributes across key functional areas—including Master Data, Procurement, Inventory, Warehousing, and Logistics—ensuring alignment and consistency in processes and system use.
What you’ll do
Develop and maintain standardized technical documentation, including procedures, process maps, and user work aids, to support consistency, compliance, and system adoption
Drive data quality within SAP by supporting governance, accuracy, and integrity of materials and supply chain data
Analyze and optimize materials planning, procurement, and inventory/storage processes to improve performance and operational efficiency
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance outcomes
Support change management efforts by promoting process standardization and adoption of best practices
Participate in the full SAP S/4HANA implementation lifecycle for Materials Management, including design, build, testing (UAT), cutover planning, data migration, and hypercare support
Function as a subject matter expert (SME) for Materials Management within SAP S/4HANA, supporting both implementation and ongoing enhancements
Troubleshoot SAP issues and provide end-user support, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption
Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and corporate policies
Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across TC Energy and Supply Chain to drive alignment, readiness, and successful adoption of processes and systems
Minimum Qualifications
6+ years of experience in Materials Management and end-to-end supply chain operations
Post-Secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or another related field
A combination of education and experience may be considered
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency in Spanish and/or French is a strong preference
Supply Chain certification designation or active enrollment preferred (e.g., ASCM CPIM, CSCP, SCMA, SCMP)
Business Process Management or Technical Writing Certification
SAP S/4HANA Materials Management Certification
Proven hands-on experience with SAP Materials Management (MM) required; SAP S/4HANA experience
Strong ability to develop high-quality technical documentation, including standards, processes, procedures, and user work aids
Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools such as Visio, Microsoft Word, and SharePoint
Solid understanding of supply chain best practices and process optimization methodologies
Experience supporting data migration, system testing (including UAT), and master data governance
Demonstrated involvement in SAP implementations; exposure to change management or organizational transformation initiatives is considered an asset
