Job Summary
We are seeking reliable and attentive Traffic Control Person for out-of-town construction projects. This role involves ensuring the safety of workers and the public by managing traffic flow around construction sites. The position requires working in various outdoor environments, often at in adverse weather conditions, and will involve travel to different job sites. The ideal candidate will be responsible, alert, and capable of following safety protocols to maintain a secure work zone.
Duties
- Set up and operate traffic control devices such as signs, cones, and barriers to redirect traffic safely around construction zones
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic according to established plans and safety guidelines
- Assist with the installation and removal of temporary traffic control equipment at multiple sites
- Monitor work zones continuously for safety hazards or issues that could impact public or worker safety
- Communicate effectively with team members and construction personnel to coordinate traffic management activities
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations related to traffic control and construction site operations
- Report any incidents or unsafe conditions promptly to supervisors
Skills
- Prior experience in traffic control is preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong understanding of traffic safety regulations and protocols
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, rain, or cold
- Excellent communication skills for clear directions and coordination with team members
- Attention to detail and vigilant awareness of surroundings to prevent accidents or hazards
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while adhering to safety standards
- Physical stamina for standing for extended periods and performing manual tasks as needed

Pay: $23.00-$31.00 per hour
