This is a Multisite MLT I position serving the communities of Cardston and Taber. Cardston Alberta which is approximately 230 kms south of Calgary, 80 kms southwest of Lethbridge and 25 kms north of the State of Montana. This busy rural location serves the town as well as the surrounding communities. The Cardston location is staffed with an experienced Team of laboratory professionals. Taber Alberta is located approx. 50 kilometers east of Lethbridge and 260 kilometers southeast of Calgary. Taber is a beautiful town that is known as the Corn Capital of Canada. The town has both public and separate schools and offers a temperate climate, access to state-of-the-art sports and recreation facilities and an active arts and culture scene. The Taber location is staffed with an experienced Team of laboratory professionals. In this role, you help clinicians and patients get the information they need to get a correct diagnosis, and restore, maintain, or optimize health. You’ll have the opportunity to perform a variety of routine and specialized tests, including daily processing, testing, resulting, and reporting of diagnostic samples. Relocation assistance may be available with a Return of Service Agreement. This vacancy may be eligible for recruitment incentive.
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
All new employees to Alberta Precision Laboratories must provide a recent (<3 months) Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector (level 2) before they are able to begin working within the organization. The successful applicant must have a strong sense of teamwork and possess excellent communication skills. Strong Technical skills and adaptability is imperative in this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Connect Care. Recent phlebotomy and rural experience are an asset.
