Hairdresser (LTC)
GOAL
UniversalCare is committed to resident centered care through excellence and innovation. Each resident is an individual and must be treated as such through:

PROCEDUREService Provision
- Regular hairdressing and barber services are provided in-house to the residents of the Neighbourhood Better Living.
- Residents may have their own hairdresser or barber outside of the Home if it is their choice.
- It will be the responsibility of the nursing staff to observe conditions and/or complaints of the resident and report to the nursing supervisor concerning hair care needs.
- Regular washing and cutting are carried out to maintain healthy hair and scalp conditions.
Referral
- Hairdressing and barber services are available at designated times.
- A list is prepared of residents to be seen by hairdresser or barber
- References of clients will be required.
In-House
- The Home provides a working space, chairs, basins, hot water, towels.
- The beautician provides their own instruments, shampoos, conditioners, dryers, etc.
Charges
- Fees are set by the Beautician and reviewed yearly by the Administrator
Payment
- Payment for hairdresser and barber services is the responsibility of the resident. Consent must therefore be obtained from the resident or responsible party prior to the service being provided.
Pay: $17.20-$47.37 per hour
