Rivergate Academy is currently not an accredited Montessori school, we simply blend Montessori elements into our early learning approaches.

Job Overview
Due to the continued rapid growth and expansion of our daycare we are seeking 4 passionate Early Childhood Assistants to join our team and contribute to the development and education of young children. This role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment to facilitate children's growth and learning.
As an Early Childcare Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
- Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods.
- Assisting children in their daily routines (lunches/nap time/recess/washroom routines) under supervision of RECE’s aimed at enhancing the children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
- Responding with sensitivity to the needs of individual children and their families, respecting diversities in age, sex, developmental level, religion, sexual orientation, and cultural background.
- Releasing/accepting kids from the daycare.
- Participating in the daily health check of children; records illness if applicable.
- Completing regular attendance checks (along with RECE) indoors, outdoors and on trips.
Education and Experience
- 1 year experience working with children in childcare setting.
- ECA Diploma / Certificate is an asset.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 18 years or older.
- Up to date immunizations as per Public Health.
- Standard First Aid with Child/Infant CPR.
- Ability to communicate in english fluently & effectively both orally and in writing.
- Fundamental knowledge of the CCEYA, Child and Family Services Act and Children’s Services AQI, HDLH & Ontario Pedagogy with the ability to meet the specifications of these acts and any other related regulations that apply to this work.
- Flexible, punctual, responsible and approachable.
- Ability to work in a team and as an individual.
