Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled tower crane Rigger to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials using a tower crane. This role involves inspecting rigging equipment, ensuring loads are properly secured, communicating with the crane operator, and maintaining a safe work environment. They play a crucial role in coordinating lifting operations and ensuring the safety of all personnel on site.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate rigging equipment to lift, move, or position heavy loads.
- Attaching loads to the crane hook, ensuring proper rigging techniques, and verifying the weight and stability of loads.
- Inspect rigging equipment for safety compliance and functionality before use.
- Clearly communicating with the crane operator using hand signals and/or radio communication to guide the movement of loads.
- Collaborate with crane operators and other crew members to coordinate lifting operations.
- Performing daily rigging inspections, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring all lifting operations comply with safety regulations.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate records of rigging activities and equipment inspections.
- Collaborating with other construction personnel, including crane operators, to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials.
Skills
- Proficiency in rigging techniques, including knowledge of various slings, shackles, and rigging hardware.
- A strong understanding of safety procedures and practices related to rigging and crane operations.
- Ability to work at heights and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
