Landscape Materials Truck Driver Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable, safety-focused, and experienced Landscape Materials Truck Driver to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely delivering landscape materials, equipment, and supplies to residential and commercial job sites throughout the Edmonton area and surrounding communities.
This position is more than just driving—you'll be a key part of our operations by ensuring materials arrive safely, on time, and ready for our crews to complete quality landscaping projects. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company trucks to transport landscape materials including mulch, topsoil, decorative rock, gravel, sand, sod, trees, shrubs, and equipment.
- Load, secure, transport, and unload materials while following all transportation and safety regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance concerns promptly.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and delivered safely without damage.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials using equipment or by hand when required.
- Deliver materials to residential and commercial job sites while maintaining a professional and courteous attitude with customers.
- Maintain accurate delivery records, inspection reports, fuel logs, and daily paperwork.
- Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and crews regarding delivery schedules, delays, or job site conditions.
- Keep trucks, trailers, and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition.
- Follow all company safety policies, Alberta transportation regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Support landscaping crews with general labour when deliveries are complete or when operational needs require assistance.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 Driver's Licence with Air Brake (Q) Endorsement (Class 1 is considered an asset).
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Previous experience operating tandem, dump, or commercial trucks.
- Experience transporting landscape materials, aggregates, or construction materials is preferred.
- Comfortable operating in residential neighborhoods, construction sites, and commercial properties.
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Strong understanding of load securement and safe driving practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently while remaining a strong team player.
