Gestion Zagora is a young and dynamic company specializing in property management. In operation for over 5 years, the company currently owns and manages several rental properties primarily located in Montreal, the South Shore of Montreal, Gatineau, and Quebec City. As we are experiencing rapid growth, we are looking to expand our team to reach new heights.
We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Administrator to join our payroll team in Montreal. You will act as a key collaborator.
Payroll Processing
- Process full-cycle payroll for salaried and hourly employees
- Review and validate employee timesheets, attendance, and payroll changes
- Calculate regular earnings, overtime, bonuses, commissions, vacation pay, and statutory holiday pay
- Process new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments
- Prepare final pay calculations and Records of Employment (ROEs)
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately and within deadlines
Payroll Compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll legislation
- Administer payroll deductions including CPP/QPP, EI, QPIP, income tax, garnishments, and benefits
- Maintain employee payroll records and confidential information
- Support year-end processing including T4s, RL-1s, T4 summaries, and government remittances
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Payroll Accounting Responsibilities
- Prepare and reconcile payroll journal entries
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts
- Analyze payroll variances and investigate discrepancies
- Reconcile vacation accruals, payroll liabilities, and benefit accruals
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes
- Support audits by providing payroll reports and supporting documentation
- Ensure payroll expenses are properly allocated to departments or properties
- Prepare payroll reports for finance and management teams
- Assist with remittances to government agencies and third-party vendors
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Payroll Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
- PCP certification (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) is considered an asset
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and employment standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting reconciliations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
