The West Vancouver Memorial Library has an opening for a casual Building Maintenance Worker I. As a semi-skilled custodian, the Building Maintenance Worker is responsible for routine maintenance of the building including, but not limited to: cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming; and basic repair and limited grounds keeping duties in a moderately-sized public building.
To be considered, applicants must have: working knowledge of the materials, methods and equipment used in the painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical trades, and general building maintenance and janitorial work; working knowledge of the occupational hazards and precautionary measures in building general maintenance and machinery/equipment operation; skill in using a variety of hand tools; and good written and oral communication skills.
A current BC Class 5 Driver’s License is required. Considerable general experience in the building trades and in maintenance is preferred.
The successful candidate will be required to supply a police information check and a copy of their credentials.
