Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management, with proven leadership and team management skills. As a key member of our kitchen staff, the Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and hospitality. Responsibilities
- Assist the Executive Chef in managing kitchen operations, including supervising kitchen staff and ensuring efficient workflow
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations
- Lead food preparation efforts during service hours, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering teamwork and professional development
- Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimize waste
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area at all times
- Serve as a role model for excellent customer service and hospitality practices
- Support restaurant management in implementing new menu items and operational improvements
Experience
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced restaurant or food service environment is preferred
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food handling within the food industry
- Strong background in restaurant management or kitchen experience with leadership responsibilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hospitality settings
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams effectively while maintaining high standards of quality and service
- Experience with serving in a culinary setting is advantageous
- Passion for culinary arts combined with excellent communication skills and leadership qualities
