We are looking for a Dispatch & Logistics Coordinator to join our Delta team and support operations throughout the Greater Vancouver Area, Sunshine Coast, and Vancouver Island.
Position Summary
The Dispatch & Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery and movement of portable storage containers throughout British Columbia. Based in our Delta office, this position coordinates daily dispatch activities, supports fleet and yard operations, manages customer communications, assists with accounts receivable activities, and provides administrative support for our growing portable storage business across the
Greater Vancouver Area, Sunshine Coast, and Vancouver Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily delivery and pickup schedules across the Greater Vancouver Area, Sunshine Coast, and Vancouver Island.
- Work closely with company drivers and third-party transportation providers to ensure efficient routing and service delivery.
- Schedule ferry reservations and transportation logistics for island and coastal deliveries.
- Obtain quotes, pricing and dispatch confirmations for third-party carriers and transportation partners.
- Monitor delivery progress and ensure customer commitments are met.
- Update dispatch, rental, and customer management systems with accurate information.
- Coordinate container inventory, yard organization, and equipment availability.
- Ensure containers are prepared, released, and available for scheduled deliveries.
- Respond to customer inquiries by phone, email, online chat and in person.
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate records.
- Conduct customer collection and accounts receivable follow-up calls.
- Review and approve operational invoices and vendor charges as assigned.
- Support accounts payable and administrative functions for regional operations.
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules for Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island fleets.
- Coordinate fleet insurance renewals, vehicle inspections, licensing requirements, and compliance schedules.
- Support drivers with mobile technology, tablets, and dispatch applications.
- Maintain accurate records within the company's operating systems and SharePoint.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of dispatch, logistics coordination, transportation, or operations experience.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and SharePoint.
- Strong organizational, administrative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable learning and using multiple software platforms and technology tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with operational teams.
- Experience with Omniview, SiteLink, or similar systems is considered an asset.
- Accounts receivable, collections, fleet administration, or yard operations experience is preferred.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (On-Site)
- Some weekends from time to time.
