Job Summary
The Team Leader provides day-to-day leadership, guidance, and direction to Support Workers within assigned homes, ensuring high-quality support, clear communication, and consistent adherence to organizational standards. This role plays a key part in fostering a positive team environment and ensuring the well-being, safety, and inclusion of the Members we support.
Primary Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Support
- Supervise Support Workers and ensure policies, procedures, and safe work practices are followed
- Promote cooperative teamwork and a positive, respectful work environment
- Maintain open communication and address team issues directly or in consultation with a Coordinator
- Schedule and lead team meetings; document and post minutes as needed
- Provide orientation and guidance to new hires, including arranging shadow shifts
- Act as the main point of contact for staff, including after-hours or emergency situations as required
- Assist with performance evaluations—probationary, annual, and ongoing
Scheduling & Administration
- Prepare and update staff schedules; submit weekly schedules as directed
- Ensure all shifts are filled, and when all options are exhausted, work the shift (if necessary)
- Review communication and documentation practices to ensure accuracy and professionalism
- Maintain and track household and Member-related expenses, ensuring budgets are followed
- Cooperate with the Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee and assist with incident investigations
Member Support & Care Planning
- Oversee and support the implementation of the Member’s care plan
- Interact effectively with members in their homes and communities, acting as an advocate
- Accompany members to medical appointments and ensure follow-up documentation is completed
- Update family members regarding appointments and other important information, as required
- Support members in maintaining a clean and healthy living environment
- Order medications and supplies (or delegate as needed)
- Experience providing support to individuals with complex behavioural support needs is considered an asset.
Qualifications
Required:
- First Aid CPR-C – required
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle with $2 million third-party liability insurance is an asset.
- Ability to work days, evenings, overnights, and weekends as required
- Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Check, completed within the last 6 months

Pay: $19.30-$26.76 per hour
