We are located in Winnipeg in the St Boniface Industrial Park (off Dugald Rd). Vehicle is recommended for our location due to irregular bus service.
Position Summary - We are currently recruiting a Junior/Senior Roofing Sales Estimator to help us grow our business.
Responsibilities
- The position of Sales Estimator is a skilled role, in which they provide the overall on-site administrative and technical management for a project, while ensuring the total roofing efforts are in accordance with the plans and specifications. The estimator is responsible for compiling estimates of how much it will cost to provide a client or potential client with services. This will be done by working out approximately how much a project is likely to cost and create budgets accordingly. The job involves assessing material, labour and equipment required and analyzing different quotes and then selling the client on it.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency in written/oral communication in the English language
- Good knowledge of general business issues
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
- General construction knowledge; understands specifications, methods and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity take off procedures, sub-trade procurement, pricing and bid closing procedures
- Ability to build an estimate without drawings/specifications
- Identifies competitors and understands current market conditions
- Ability to identify risk associated with contract/project documents
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Experience in estimating for lump sum and design and construction tenders
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook software
- Must be alert and resourceful and be able to interact with a cross section of individuals
- Must be able to demonstrate patience and perseverance, and embrace change when it occurs.
Credentials and Experience
- Roofing business experience is an asset
- Appropriate post secondary education - CET or Degree in Construction Management
- Valid Drivers License
