Yard Supervisor ( Non Ferrous & Ferrous Metal Recycling )
Must have Supervisory experience in metal recycling.
Pay Rate: From $35.00 per hour based on qualification and experience
Under the authority of the Manager, the Yard Supervisor must have experience in metal recycling, be able to train, lead and control, operational tasks. They must have the knowledge to identify the different types of metals. They will respond effectively to quality and productivity and health and safety requirements. They will see to the planning of operations and collaborate with management to continuously optimize and improve processes.
The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out safely and productively to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
You're responsible for:
- Setting goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company plans and visions and communicate them to subordinates
- Organizing workflow and ensure that employees understand their duties or delegated tasks
- Organize incoming and outgoing material, including daily and monthly orders
- Organizing and maintaining material inventories within the yard
- Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work.
- Verifying the quality of material as it is being processed
- Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching
- Receive complaints and resolve problems
- Strong customer service skills, and time management
- Pass on information from upper management to employees and vice versa
- Prepare and submit performance reports
- Decide on reward and advancement based on performance
- Assist in production when time permits
- Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises
- Other duties as required
