Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in assisting patients with selecting and fitting eyewear, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the overall operations of our optical practice. Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting appropriate eyewear based on prescriptions and personal preferences
- Take precise measurements for lens fitting and frame adjustments
- Educate patients on lens options, frame styles, and proper eyewear care
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information and prescriptions
- Support the optical team with inventory management and ordering supplies
- Operate optical equipment and perform basic laboratory tasks such as lens cutting and edging
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient questions and concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional optical environment
- Collaborate with optometrists and other staff to ensure seamless patient care
Experience
- Prior experience with optical products or services is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is advantageous
- Laboratory experience involving lens fabrication or adjustments is a plus
- Retail sales experience, especially in eyewear or healthcare products, is highly desirable
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is beneficial
- Experience in retail management or supervisory roles can be an asset
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach are essential
