Position Summary
As an Inside Sales / Order Desk Representative, you will be responsible for assisting customers with heavy-duty truck parts, processing orders, preparing quotes, supporting the service department, and helping maintain efficient warehouse operations. This role requires strong organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers by phone, email, and at the parts counter.
- Prepare accurate quotations for parts, labour, warranty claims, and core evaluations.
- Process customer orders quickly and accurately.
- Convert quotes into work orders and ensure required parts are available.
- Create purchase orders for non-stock parts and work with vendors to source inventory.
- Pull, organize, and stage parts for work orders.
- Support rebuild technicians by ensuring required parts are available when needed.
- Return unused parts to inventory and complete all required documentation.
- Process core returns and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Maintain inventory bin locations and organize warehouse stock.
- Assist the Service Manager with shop parts requirements.
- Work closely with the production, service, and warehouse teams.
- Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory counts, and general warehouse duties.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Experience in heavy-duty truck parts, drivetrain components, or a related mechanical field
- Strong knowledge of transmissions, differentials, and drivetrain components is considered an asset
- Previous experience in inside sales, parts sales, or order desk operations
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:
- Heavy-duty truck parts
- Drivetrain or transmission components
- Warranty processing
- Inventory management
- Purchasing
- Shipping and receiving
