The Heavy Duty Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and servicing Mac Agg’s fleet of heavy construction equipment and support vehicles.
Requirements:
· Must have experience and knowledge of CATERPILLER engines and Equipment.
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel systems.
- Inspect equipment to identify faults, malfunctions, and worn components.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with specifications.
- Communicate major or unexpected repairs with the Supervisor or Fleet Manager.
- Ensure shop cleanliness, organization, and proper tool/equipment maintenance.
- Support other mechanics and collaborate with operators and supervisors.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Experience with excavators, Wheel loaders, skid steers, articulated trucks, drills, and related equipment is considered an asset.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Physically capable of lifting and performing physical tasks as required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Work schedule Monday to Friday with the odd weekend if needed.
