Restaurant Deep CleanerJob Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Restaurant Deep Cleaner to help maintain clean, sanitary, and welcoming restaurant environments across our three Saint John locations.
This position focuses primarily on deep-cleaning equipment, hard-to-reach areas, and other tasks that are difficult to complete during regular operating hours. The successful candidate will work independently, follow assigned cleaning checklists, and ensure that all required tasks are completed thoroughly each week.
The schedule is flexible. Cleaning will typically be completed two evenings per week between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m., although the specific days and times can be arranged based on availability and operational needs. We will work with the successful candidate to create a consistent schedule.
Previous commercial cleaning, restaurant cleaning, or facilities-maintenance experience is an asset, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Deep-clean restaurant equipment, kitchen areas, floors, walls, corners, shelving, and other hard-to-reach spaces
- Thoroughly clean dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, storage areas, and other restaurant facilities
- Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors as required
- Clean and disinfect tables, chairs, countertops, sinks, and kitchen surfaces
- Remove grease, food buildup, dust, and debris from equipment and surrounding areas
- Clean areas that are difficult to access or properly maintain during regular operating hours
- Empty garbage and recycling and dispose of waste properly
- Restock cleaning supplies and report when products or equipment need to be replaced
- Maintain cleaning tools and equipment in good working condition
- Follow all food-safety, workplace-safety, and sanitation procedures
- Complete assigned weekly cleaning checklists
- Report maintenance concerns, damage, or safety hazards to management
- Assist with minor cleaning-related maintenance tasks when required
- Coordinate with management to complete cleaning during off-peak hours with minimal disruption
- Travel between restaurant locations as scheduled
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous commercial cleaning, restaurant cleaning, or facilities-maintenance experience is preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and pride in completing work thoroughly
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow a recurring cleaning schedule
- Ability to follow written instructions and cleaning checklists
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, techniques, and safety procedures is an asset
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand, bend, reach, kneel, lift, and perform repetitive tasks
- Comfortable working around commercial kitchen and restaurant equipment
- Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
Location and Transportation Requirements
We currently have three restaurant locations within Saint John city limits.
The successful candidate must:
- Have reliable transportation
- Be able to travel to any of the three locations as needed
- Be comfortable working at a different location depending on the weekly cleaning schedule
- Be available to complete assigned cleaning tasks at the designated location within the agreed schedule
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Typically two cleaning shifts per week
- Cleaning is generally completed between 4:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.
- Days and start times may be flexible
- The successful candidate will be responsible for completing all assigned tasks each week
- We will work with the successful candidate to create a schedule that works for both parties

Pay: $15.90-$18.00 per hour
