South Country Village is looking for a motivated, energetic and passionate individual to join our team as a Occupational Therapist (OT). The position develops assessments and evaluates occupational therapy services and coordinates daily operational functions through the scheduling of residents and services. The OT works closely with Occupational therapy assistants, residents, caregivers, the health care team, and employees of SCV spanning the continuum of care while adhering to SCV policies, process, safe work practices and procedures. As SCV's OT, you may also provide clinical supervision to Therapy Assistants and Therapy Aides
Hours will vary dependent on hourly wage.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have :
- Graduate of recognized Occupational Therapist diploma program or equivalent
- Experience working with seniors in the community health services setting.
- Knowledge and commitment to person-centered care.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to effectively work independently and within a team
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Support resident safety at all times
- Adherence to South Country Village policies, procedures and care standards
- Physically and emotionally fit to work in a large senior’s community
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Inquiry
