About the Role
As an RVT at Dixie Animal Hospital, you will work closely with our veterinarians and support staff to provide exceptional medical care and client service. This role involves a combination of general practice and urgent care responsibilities, requiring strong technical skills, sound judgment, and a calm, compassionate approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, and treatments
- Perform and support laboratory procedures (sample collection, analysis, and handling)
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses
- Provide anesthesia monitoring and surgical support as required
- Obtain patient histories and TPRs
- Support urgent care cases with efficiency and attention to detail
- Educate and communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records
- Uphold cleanliness, organization, and infection control standards
What We’re Looking For
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in good standing (or eligible)
- Strong clinical and technical skills, including lab and anesthesia experience
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate, patient-focused approach
- Flexibility and reliability
Schedule
- We operate 7 days a week with a focus on urgent care
- Weekend and evening shifts are required, until 12:00 AM
- Flexibility to support patient care needs is essential
