Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team. This role is essential for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. The ideal candidate will have experience in warehouse operations, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and the ability to operate various material handling equipment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced distribution environment, supporting seamless order fulfillment and inventory management.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling products accurately
- Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely to load and unload goods
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, AS400, or similar software for inventory tracking and order processing
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy
- Ensure proper packaging of products to prevent damage during transit
- Support order fulfillment processes, including order picking and packing for e-commerce orders
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with warehouse distribution teams to optimize workflow efficiency
Requirements
- Previous experience in warehouse management, shipping & receiving, or related roles preferred
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS), MRP, AS400 is highly desirable
- Valid forklift license or certification; experience operating reach trucks is a plus
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently
- Basic math skills for counting, measuring, and verifying quantities
- Experience with order picking, packing, load & unload procedures in a warehouse setting
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards
- Warehouse experience in distribution or e-commerce environments is preferred
- Physical ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods
