Overview
We are seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join our team in Mississauga. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff, visitors, and property. This role requires a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observation skills, and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents. Prior experience in law enforcement or security is a plus, along with familiarity with surveillance systems and loss prevention techniques. The Security Guard will play a vital role in safeguarding assets through vigilant monitoring and proactive security measures.
Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to monitor for suspicious activity or safety hazards
- Monitor surveillance cameras (CCTV) to oversee property and detect potential security breaches
- Enforce access control procedures by checking credentials and maintaining visitor logs
- Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies, following established protocols
- Assist in loss prevention efforts by identifying theft or vandalism and reporting incidents appropriately
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of daily activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary
- Maintain a visible presence to deter unauthorized access or misconduct
Qualifications
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, surveillance, or loss prevention is preferred
- Knowledge of CCTV systems and surveillance techniques
- Strong observational skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations
- Excellent communication skills for reporting incidents clearly and accurately
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform patrols across the premises
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to ensuring safety and security at all times
