Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager to oversee daily operations in our busy concession at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food industry knowledge, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. As a Kitchen Manager, you will be responsible for managing kitchen staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining efficient restaurant operations to provide a memorable dining experience for our guests.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, including hiring, training, and performance management
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to ensure quality and consistency
- Manage food handling procedures in compliance with safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to maintain smooth operations
- Operate Square POS system for order processing and cash handling
- Ensure adherence to food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Lead team meetings, conduct interviews, and foster a positive work environment
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Maintain compliance with hospitality industry regulations and company policies
- Handle customer inquiries or complaints professionally to uphold excellent customer service standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in restaurant management, food service, or hospitality roles, including supervising teams
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols
- Experience with POS systems such as Square or similar platforms; cash handling skills required
- Leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively
- Background in food handling, restaurant experience, or kitchen operations within the food industry
- Excellent communication skills for interviewing staff and coordinating with team members
- Prior experience in hotel or barista settings is a plus but not required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of service
