ackenzie County is currently inviting applications for an Equipment Operator position. The primary location for this position will be in La Crete, however the individual may be required to work in other areas of the municipality as per operational requirements. This is a full-time unionized position with a 40 hour work week (8 hours per day) Monday to Friday.
Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor (South), the successful applicant will be responsible for:
M- anual labour (i.e. shoveling snow/dirt);
M- aintenance and repair of signs, culverts, etc.;
S- now removal, manual and equipment;
T- he safe operation and minor maintenance of County equipment;
A- ssisting with crack-filling; pavement patching;
S- ome weekend or holiday work required; (Saturday & Sunday)
O- ther duties as required.
Requirements for this position are:
V- alid Class 5 drivers’ license; Class 1 or 3 an asset;
T- wo to three years’ experience operating equipment (i.e. loader, backhoe, tractor, skid steer, & lawn mower);
M- oderate physical strength and stamina;
M- echanical knowledge of equipment would be an asset;
K- nowledge of road maintenance;
A- dequate verbal and written communication skills;
E- vidence of successfully passing a police Criminal Record Check.
