Good Pocket Studios is a boutique video and advertising firm specializing in creating captivating short and long-term video content for a diverse range of clients. Good Pocket was spawned out of the marketing division of Digital Shovel - a leading tech manufacturer in Canada. Good Pocket now operates independently in our beautiful downtown loft studio, with Digital Shovel as a major client.
The Position:
We are seeking an experienced Video Editor, with extensive experience editing travel vlog style content for YouTube in long format, as well as short format content for a variety of channels including TikTok, Instagram, SnapChat and other popular platforms.
You will be working with junior editors that will be sorting mass amounts of raw 360 cam footage, and creating captivating long and short form videos from it.
Additionally, you will be working with the content creators to provide feedback and discuss strategy for filming going forward.
Please note - this is strictly an in-office position at our downtown studio, with a shortened Friday ending at 3pm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review raw content and creating long format travel vlog videos
- Creating short format content for TikTok, Instagram, Youtube Shorts and other platforms
- Writing copy for captions and descriptions
- Using various tools to assess tags, hashtags, and other strategies to increase post engagement
- Utilizing AI to assist any and all processes
- Ensure all video content aligns with the company's brand identity, style guidelines, and messaging.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in video editing techniques, software, and technology.
- Support the production team with tasks such as organizing files, managing equipment, and coordinating schedules.
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive experience creating travel vlog style videos (References required)
- Experience working with Insta360 cam content
- Experience working with platforms like Artlist and Epidemic Sound for music selection
- Thumbnail selection and evaluation experience
- Proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, with imperative experience pertaining to Premiere Pro
- Strong color grading skills
- Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual storytelling and attention to detail
Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday: 9 am to 5:30 pm
- Friday: 9 am to 3pm
- Additional hours, including weekend work, may be required. All hours worked are fully compensated.
