About Us
Anishnawbe G’Zhiitoonegamic (A’Gic), meaning “Peoples Place of Building”, is an indigenous women-led social enterprise located at 300 Archer Drive in Kirkland Lake, Ontario. The enterprise offers a transformative solution to the housing crisis facing Indigenous and Northern communities. Emerging from the Keepers of the Circle and grounded in Indigenous values – A’Gic provides low-carbon, energy-efficient modular homes that are not only affordable and climate-resilient but also culturally grounded and community-informed.
Summary of Position
The Production Manager reports to the General Plant Manager and plays a critical role in overseeing day-to-day factory operations within A’Gic’s modular housing manufacturing facility. This role works in a fast-paced production environment and supports operations across production, quality control, safety, logistics, and workforce coordination. The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring production schedules are met efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and cultural respect.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) position based on-site in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, with flexibility as operational needs require. The starting salary will be determined based on experience, and the start date for this position will be discussed further during the interview process.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or industrial operations environment.
- Proven experience supervising staff in a production or factory setting.
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, workflow optimization, and quality control processes.
- Working knowledge of occupational health and safety standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a growing, mission-driven enterprise.
- Experience working in an Indigenous workplace, and knowledge of Indigenous culture and communities, is considered a strong asset.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day production scheduling to meet output targets and deadlines.
- Supervise and support factory floor staff, fostering a safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
- Coordinate workflow, materials, and labour to optimize production efficiency.
- Monitor and manage production throughput, quality, and safety targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and address production challenges, delays, or quality issues in real time.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to production processes and staff development.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to align production with organizational goals.
