Job Description
- Overseeing and managing the daily operations of 2 residences, ensuring safety, security, and wellness for all adult clients
- Staff support/ feedback/ supervision
- Scheduling and professional development
- Behaviour Management/ implementation of BSP
- Ensuring that all documentation (reports, logs, IRs, etc) are completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Serious Occurrence reporting as required
- Promoting a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for clients and staff
- Supporting clients to engage in social, educational, and recreational activities within the community
- Attending/ chairing regularly scheduled staff meetings on a monthly basis
- Attending/ chairing ISP meetings as required
- Liaison with parents/ families, Workers, Day Program staff, etc as required
- Ensure medical, dental, etc appointments are scheduled and attended as required
- To work with young adults who have developmental disabilities/ ASD in a group living environment. To support the Individuals in their physical, social, spiritual, psychological, educational and vocational needs.
- Ensuring compliance with individualized ISP reports for each client and assisting in the development/ implementation of their care plans
- Maintaining QAM compliance within the residence; preparing for and attending all QAM reviews with Agencies
- On-call duties as required
Qualifications/Experience:
- Must possess necessary educational requirements (DSW, CYW, University Degree or equivalent/ experience)
- Must have worked full-time within the field of Special Needs for minimum of 2 years
- Practical knowledge/experience in Residential Services Sector with an awareness of MCCSS regulations/ QAM guidelines
- Reliable and professional with good interactive communication skills (verbal and written) and strong work ethic
- Organized individual who meets the needs of the clients in care
- Good Time Management
- Behaviour Management/ CPI certification an asset
- Good team building skills
- Ability to provide supervision/ leadership in a supportive/objective manner
- Ability to liaison with outside agencies and other professionals
- Demonstrate a caring, respectful, non-judgmental attitude
- Class G Driver's License mandatory for position
