Reversomatic is seeking a strategic, highly experienced, and performance-driven Shipper/receiver to lead logistics operations. The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and be a strategic thinker, enhance vendor partnerships and align logistics with overall business objectives.
This role is essential to ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials, components, and finished goods across the company’s supply chain.
The shipper receiver will oversee customs compliance, freight cost management, and logistics partner performance while driving continuous improvement across shipping, warehousing coordination, and supply chain visibility. This individual will play a critical role in supporting project execution, customer satisfaction, and operational scalability.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of all international inbound and domestic freight operations, including ocean, air, rail, and ground transportation.
- Manage end-to-end logistics processes to ensure timely delivery of materials to production, warehouses, and customer project sites.
- Develop transportation strategies that balance cost, speed, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage contracts with freight forwarders, carriers, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs).
- Maintain strong supplier and logistics partner relationships to ensure service continuity and proactive issue resolution.
- Ensure full compliance with Canadian, U.S., and international import/export regulations, customs requirements, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Oversee customs clearance activities and ensure all shipping documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
- Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary updates to logistics procedures.
- Analyze logistics networks, freight spend, and transportation processes to identify opportunities for cost savings, improved service, and reduced risk.
- Drive freight consolidation, route optimization, inventory flow improvements, and process automation initiatives.
- Partner closely with purchasing, production, warehouse, project management, sales, and finance teams to align logistics activities with operational priorities.
- Support project execution by ensuring material availability aligns with production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
- Collaborate with purchasing to improve inbound planning and material flow.
- Implement and manage transportation management systems (TMS) and tracking tools to provide real-time shipment visibility.
- Proactively manage delays, customs holds, damages, and freight discrepancies to minimize disruption.
- Ensure prompt corrective actions and maintain clear communication with internal stakeholders.
- Stay informed on industry trends, logistics technologies, and global supply chain best practices.
- Lead, mentor, manage and develop a diverse and inclusive team, fostering accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive logistics or supply chain experience.
- Strong understanding of customs regulations, trade compliance, and cross-border logistics.
- Proven success negotiating transportation contracts and managing logistics vendors.
- Deep knowledge of ocean, air, rail, and trucking operations.
- Experience with ERP systems, TMS platforms, and logistics analytics tools.
- Relevant certifications are considered strong assets.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to inspire and mentor
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions
- Problem-solving skills to develop innovative solutions and improve logistics processes
- Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with multiple teams
