Position Summary
Thermtest is looking to add a Procurement & Supply Chain professional to our growing team. This position coordinates the flow of materials through our operations — purchasing, inventory management, and logistics — and works closely with our operations team to keep things running smoothly while continually improving how they run.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain inventory accuracy
- Order replacement parts and receive orders against purchase orders
- Research and compare pricing and vendor options, and negotiate to reduce costs
- Assist in returns and the transfer of inventory
- Provide oversight and backup for inbound and outbound shipping, coordinating outbound with inventory
- Review current inventory and operational processes with a focus on identifying benefits, shortcomings, and opportunities for improvement
- Build and refine repeatable processes and systems as the operation grows
Required Skills
- Experience across operations, supply chain, purchasing, inventory, or logistics in a fast-paced, technical environment
- A university degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Has developed and/or worked in an inventory system application for a fast-paced and highly technical environment considered an asset
- Strong negotiation, problem solving, analytical, strategic planning, and execution skills
- Comfortable working across different areas rather than a single specialty
- Excellent customer service skills
- Experience making freight arrangements and managing freight expenses
- Ability and comfort sharing your ideas to contribute to process improvements
- Experience or training in Lean Manufacturing an asset
- A technical or analytical background, or a commitment to develop in supply chain and operations
