We are seeking a hands-on Engineering Project Manager to lead our engineering team and projects, improve processes, and help support the company’s continued growth. This is not a purely administrative role; we are looking for someone who can lead projects, solve problems, work closely with production, and balance technical problem-solving with strong project execution and organizational leadership.
Position Summary
The Engineering Project Manager is responsible for overseeing engineering projects, solving technical problems, and executing engineering projects. This role manages engineering priorities, supports cross-functional collaboration, and ensures designs are practical, manufacturable, cost-effective, and aligned with company objectives.
The ideal candidate has strong manufacturing and engineering experience, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accountability and momentum across projects.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead engineering projects from concept through production and implementation.
· Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
· Develop and manage timelines, priorities, milestones, and deliverables.
· Ensure projects remain on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
· Coordinate activities across departments, including production, purchasing, service, and leadership.
· Help develop engineering standards, processes, and documentation practices.
· Communicate project updates, risks, and priorities to management.
· Improve product manufacturability and production efficiency.
· Assist with troubleshooting technical and quality issues.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
· Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers regarding technical specifications and component selection.
Qualifications
· Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field.
· Certification in Project Management.
· 7+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
· 5+ years of experience in an Engineering Project Management.
· Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, fabrication, assembly, and product development.
· Familiarity with project management software, preferably Zo-Ho
· Experience managing engineering projects and timelines.
· Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
· Excellent communication and organizational skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
· Experience with thermal dynamics an asset
· Experience with sheet metal fabrication required
· P.Eng designation considered an asset.
· ERP and BOM management experience.
· SolidWorks software proficiency.
· Engineering drawings and revision control.
· Experience with root cause analysis, manufacturing process, and technical documentation.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm with a half-hour unpaid lunch.
Wage: $90,000 - $95,000 per year.
