ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the ALS or Project Manager carrying out field survey assignments in one or more of the resource, oil & gas, municipal, construction & integrity divisions. As a company representative in direct contact with customer field representatives, the Crew Chief participates in completing tasks on time and up to customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ability to lead a 2 man crew to conduct oil & gas, pipeline integrity, construction and municipal surveys as defined by the project manager
- Ability to deliver top-quality survey notes/sketches and data
- Monitor jobs from start to finish to ensure quality
- Leads & mentors other crew members and holds them accountable
- Stringently follows all health and safety duties as outlined in Explore’s HSE manual
- Complete Alberta One Call’s, 4-Way Sweeps and Pipe staking
- Locate and mark pipelines and cables for Asbuild surveys
- Performs duties in compliance with company policies and standards
- Ensure all persons on the construction site are always using the required personal protective equipment properly
- Manage job site administration duties, such as reviewing/submitting employee timesheets, and completing daily field observation e-compliance tasks
- Complete site inspections periodically throughout the day to ensure client specifications are being met and awareness to changing site conditions.
- Ensure appropriate quantities of the correct materials are available prior to commencing daily work
- Manage and monitor project resources
- Provide informal feedback to management regarding job processes and improved efficiencies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Geomatics Technologist Diploma an asset, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient with field calculations & notes
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
- Experience with Trimble GPS survey equipment & total stations
- Excellent communication skills

- Available to work out of town, in remote locations, for periods of time up to 12 days
- Demonstrated ability to exercise necessary cost control measures
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Exposure to hazards associated with the industry/trade
- Extended periods of physically demanding conditions
- Regular exposure to conditions including heat, humidity, and dust
- Use of required personal protective equipment
- Flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Available to work out of town, in remote locations, for periods of time up to 18 days
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
