Geoscape Contracting is a pioneer in the green industry specializing in landscape construction for many large commercial and urban developers, with projects spanning across the GTA. We dedicate ourselves to all aspects of commercial landscaping, including but not limited to; softscaping, hardscaping, grading, retaining walls, plant installation, sodding, terraseeding, park construction and trucking.
Working Foreperson
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintains safety as being the number 1 priority in all activities;
- Interprets and lays out job site according to the drawing provided by landscape architect. Including, but not limited to, planting beds, trees, pathway and park construction, retaining walls, etc.;
- Provides updates to Project Manager on the progress and evolving needs of the site;
- Ensures and monitors daily maintenance/inspections are carried out on all site equipment;
- Contributes to a team atmosphere - actively engages in training/coaching Geoscape employees to ensure a safe, energetic, engaged, and skilled workforce;
- Effectively communicates with co-workers, supervisors, client groups, and the general public;
- Invested in the success of the project and helps with any tasks that require assistance/attention.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervising role in the landscape industry.
- Knowledge of planting and hardscape techniques.
- Problem solving skills and ability to give direction to workers.
- Capable of reading and interpreting various construction related documents.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Know and understand the capability of heavy equipment/construction machines.
- Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to foresee 2 or 3 steps ahead.
- Ability to contribute to a team atmosphere and demonstrate self-motivation.
- Communicate well with co-workers, supervisors, other employees, client groups and the general public while providing leadership/supervision and work direction to GeoForce.
- Possession of a valid G license and ability to get to different jobsites around the GTA.
- Basic knowledge of horticulture and plant needs.
- Familiar with construction sites and possible.
- Ability to communicate in English - this includes reading and writing.
