We are a fast-growing and patient-focused ophthalmology clinic seeking a Clinical Assistant – Vision & Diagnostic Testing to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work directly with a leading ophthalmologist and gain valuable experience in the medical field. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic tests, preparing patients for exams, and supporting our clinical team in delivering exceptional care.
No prior ophthalmic experience is required – we are happy to train the right candidate!

Key Responsibilities
- Review patient charts for accuracy and completeness
- Perform diagnostic tests (we will provide training)
- Explain procedures and obtain proper informed consent
- Collect payment for private-pay diagnostic services
- Maintain and clean diagnostic machines and equipment
- Administer topical or oral medications under physician guidance
- Record potential “red flags” from patient histories that may affect treatment
- Assist with patient education and support
- Ensure exam and testing areas are clean, organized, and compliant with protocols
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor
- Perform clerical duties such as answering phone or patient check in
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Comfort with technology and ability to type minimum 40 WPM
- A desire to learn and grow in a clinical medical environment
- Strong computer skills and AI use
Preferred but not required:
- Experience as a dental or medical assistant
- Post-secondary education in a health science field
- Familiarity with vision testing or medical diagnostic equipment
