We are currently looking for someone to assist our GM in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our very busy cafe located in Coquitlam, BC that sees over 1.25 million visitors per year. We are a fully licensed establishment serving beer, wine and cider/coolers.
We also operate several offsite locations and cater events that fall under the scope of this position.
Assistant Food & Beverage Manager would be supporting our GM in the daily operations of our establishments. Applicant must have both managerial and cooking experience.
Duties & Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to:
- Supervise the day-to-day operations of the cafe, including food preparation, customer service, and cleanliness maintenance.
- Supervise events, which includes assisting in set up, tear down, preparation of food and end of day cash balancing.
- Manage basic food handling tasks and support in catering event preparations. This will include delivery and pick up of catering items
- Quality control of all menu items, ensuring all items are fresh and going out to our highest standards
- Manage inventory levels by placing weekly orders and assisting in end of month inventory counts
- Address and resolve issues efficiently during busy events while maintaining a calm demeanor.
- Provide top-notch customer service to enhance the overall dining experience for patrons.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent leadership skills
- Prior experience in a cafe, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Proficiency in food service and restaurant management practices

- Familiarity with catering events and platter preparation is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and assist with team management duties.
- Knowledge of food handling and safety protocols.
- Willingness to learn and contribute across various areas of the cafe and concessions as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum two years' experience in the food and beverage industry
- Minimum one year experience in a supervisory role in the food & beverage industry
- Must hold a valid class 5 driver's license
- Must hold a valid food safe certificate
- Must hold a serving it right certificate
- Must have flexible availability. Weekends and evenings are required.

Pay: $52,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
